The making
Inside the piece
IThe Story
Zagora is named for the red-earth town where the Atlas gives way to the desert. The jacket carries that landscape in its colour — burgundy, ecru and ochre — and in a diamond motif drawn from Amazigh flatweaves.
IIThe Craft
Cut and assembled by hand in a Moroccan atelier. Kilim body panels are framed with black canvas at the collar, placket, cuffs and hem; pockets are set and topstitched by hand. Snaps are struck with the AMGZAL emblem.
IIIThe Textile
cotton-blend kilim-inspired jacquard — the diamond pattern is woven into the cloth, not printed — paired with a matte black canvas trim. Fully lined in an AMGZAL monogram jacquard.
IVThe Symbol
The stepped diamonds and hooked edges are Amazigh (Berber) protective motifs, historically woven into Moroccan textiles as marks of identity and safekeeping.
