Inside the piece

IThe Story
Erg Chegaga is the far south — an ocean of orange dunes most people never reach, where the sand turns to fire at the end of the day. This jacket is that hour: red, orange and gold stacked in the raised chenille weave Moroccan looms keep for their boldest cloth. It is not a quiet piece. It was never meant to be.
IIThe Craft
Cut and finished by hand in a Moroccan atelier. The chenille kilim is matched panel to panel so the diamonds run unbroken across body, sleeves and collar; each ornate button is set by hand and the emblem-print lining bound inside. The pile catches light differently as you move — the mark of a woven, hand-built piece.
IIIThe Textile
All-over chenille-woven Amazigh kilim — raised, velvety and dense — in fire red, orange and saffron with black-and-ivory outlines. Emblem-print woven lining. Ornate antique-brass domed buttons.
IVThe Symbol
Diamonds, stepped dunes, combs and hooks from Amazigh weaving — protection, the desert, the loom — carried in the sunset palette of the deep south, worked with the artisans who keep these patterns alive.

Fit
Classic worker/trucker fit with a pointed collar; sits at the hip. Regular through the body — size down for a sharp fit, keep your usual size to layer.

Care
Dry clean only. Do not machine wash — the chenille pile and satin ribbons are delicate. Brush gently with the pile; store on a wide hanger away from prolonged direct sun.
