A black speckled-denim trucker cut across the shoulders with a bold Amazigh kilim chevron — hand-woven in flame red, saffron and ochre. The same weave returns on the collar, cuffs, hem and welt pockets, set against antique brass snaps and a tiger-ikat lining hidden inside. A loud, joyful piece that still reads as tailoring. Handmade in Morocco, in a numbered edition — each one slightly its own.

The making

Inside the piece

IThe Story
It starts with a flag of colour across the chest — a kilim chevron in the reds and golds of an Anti-Atlas sunset, pointing down like an arrow. Everything else is quiet: matte black denim, brass, a lining you only see when you open it. Tafraoute is built on that tension — a piece that shouts and whispers at once.
IIThe Craft
Cut and assembled by hand in a Moroccan atelier. The kilim panels are woven separately, then set into the denim by hand — collar, yoke, cuffs, hem and both welt pockets aligned so the pattern reads as one continuous band. Snaps are hand-set; the ikat lining is cut and bound inside. Expect small irregularities in the weave — the proof a person made it.
IIIThe Textile
Body in a heavyweight speckled black denim with a dry, worn hand. Panels in a dense hand-woven kilim — wool-rich, raised and tactile — in flame red, saffron, ochre and ivory. Lining in a printed tiger-ikat, a warm counterpoint kept for the wearer alone.
IVThe Symbol
The motifs are drawn from Amazigh weaving: the chevron (water, movement), the diamond (protection, the feminine), and the free-standing cross and stepped forms that recur across Moroccan looms. Carried, not decorated — worked with artisans who have woven these marks for generations.

Body: heavyweight cotton denim (speckled black). Panels: hand-woven wool-blend kilim. Lining: printed ikat. Hardware: antique-brass snap buttons.
Fit
Regular, slightly boxy trucker fit with a classic collar. Sits at the hip. For a closer fit, size down; for layering over knitwear, take your usual size.

Care
Dry clean only, or spot-clean by hand. Do not machine wash — the kilim weave and natural dyes are delicate. Keep away from prolonged direct sun to preserve the reds. Store on a wide hanger.
