The making
Inside the piece
IThe Story
Merzouga takes its name from the dune sea at the edge of the Sahara, where the night turns the sand to silver. The jacket carries that contrast — ecru geometry on deep black — and a mirrored motif across the back, like a horizon reflected.
IIThe Craft
Cut and assembled by hand in a Moroccan atelier. Kilim panels are framed with black canvas at the yoke, placket, pockets and hem; the western chest pockets are curved and topstitched by hand. Snaps are struck with the AMGZAL emblem.
IIIThe Textile
Cotton-blend kilim-inspired jacquard — the pattern is woven into the cloth, not printed — set against a matte black canvas trim. Fully lined.
IVThe Symbol
The diamonds, crosses and stepped edges are Amazigh (Berber) motifs, historically woven into Moroccan textiles as marks of identity and protection. On Merzouga they mirror across the back panel as a single composition.
